So there I was at Toronto’s Kampai Sake Festival, minding my own business, preparing for my seminar on vintage sake alongside vintage wine.
As I entered the classroom I spotted a familiar face in that of Canadian/UK Musician/Producer/DJ Richie Hawtin. With his Enter boutique sake collection, and his Enter sake bar in Ibiza (Europe’s largest sake bar) Hawtin has been involved in the sake business for a few years now.
With this in mind, and just a teeny touch of nostalgic fanboy adrenaline, I jumped at the opportunity to stage a rather impromptu interview (on an iPhone no less, hence the iffy audio) concerning how he developed his love for this particular beverage; the charmingly affable and knowledgeable Hawtin happily obliged.
Thanks to Mr. Hawtin for being so accommodating . Your time was much appreciated. I just wish I had managed to find time to taste through the range of your sake that evening!
